New Posts Function
With the ‘New Posts’ function of the forum, you can view the latest posts in all sub-forums.

Using a special trick you can find new posts in specific forum sections e.g. only new posts in the discussion sub-forum.
To do this, go to the highest level in the forum structure.
You will now see all the sections of the forum. Click on the forum section whose new posts you would like to view, e.g. Discussions about Runes of Magic, for the discussion sub-forum.
You will now see the Forum ID of the forum section in your browser’s address bar, in our example f=314.
Open the link ‘New Posts’ in a new window:
Change “http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/search.php?do=getnew&contenttype=vBForum_Post”
to “http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/search.php?do=getnew&contenttype=vBForum_Post&f=31 4”
You will now see all new posts in the discussion section only.
Bookmark the link and use it whenever you wish to see posts from the desired section only.

Blue/Green/Font Color
Color allocation forms part or our forum organization activities, allowing you to recognize posts from moderators, mentors and community managers by color. CM, QA and other Runes of Magic team members write in blue (although sometimes in red) and mentors write in green. Normal players, i.e. your fellow players write in black. Altering font color and style is deactivated for all regular users which means that it is easier to see official posts from us.

Creating Posts or Threads, Restrictions and Rules, Proper Conduct
To create a new thread go to the respective forum section and click on “+ Post New Thread”.
Newthread.png
You have two possibilities for creating posts in existing threads.
In each thread there is the option of quick reply whereby you write in the text box at the end of a thread and click on reply. If you want to include files and images in your reply, click below on ‘Go Advanced’.
A new window will open where you can enter your text and add any attachments you may wish or you can subscribe to the thread to be kept informed of any new posts.
Please adhere to our forum rules when writing in the forum. We want to provide all users an open space in which they can discuss all things about RoM and we prefer not having to intervene to enforce the rules.
Please note that there are some forum sections in which replying to existing threads is not possible even if the thread is still open. For example, in Constructive Feedback you can only reply as the thread’s creator and CM team members. In the Getting Started section no replies are allowed, except by the CM Team.
Please ensure you have read the forum rules before you participate in any forum activity.
By using the forum, you automatically agree to the forum rules. Contravening any of these rules will entail consequences ranging from having your post deleted, to warnings and being blocked from the forum.
As is the case in the majority of forums, we work with a warning point system. The more serious a contravention of our rules is, the more points your warning will consist of. These points will be cleared after a period of time that depends on the seriousness of the contravention, or will remain indefinitely. Once you amass a certain number of points on the forum account, you will be blocked by the forum software. This block may be permanent or temporary depending on the number of points.
We do not wish to divulge the exact number of points that correspond to the various warnings as we feel that this would be counterproductive and would allow trolls to know how much they can disrupt the forum without being sanctioned.
In general: Follow the rules, and you don’t have to worry about getting blocked.
Extreme and repeated forum rule contravention does not solely lead to being blocked from all forum accounts (if the main account has only been temporarily blocked), but also leads to game accounts being blocked. If you believe you have been blocked unjustly, contact a CM team member with a private message (PM) while maintaining a calm and sensible demeanor, and the matter will be investigated further by the team.
The two main points concerning forum rules you have to consider are the following:
Treat others with the same respect you would like to receive yourself. Try to be constructive and to-the-point. Obey the rules.
And:
Quote from Forum Rules and Guidelines
“If all users of the forum abide by these simple guidelines, there will be no need for intervention or sanctions from our forum staff.
In Conclusion: As long as the discussions in the forum remain polite and friendly, users will be encouraged to interact with each other, making it easier for everyone to find the answers and help they need.”
