I know there needs to be a penalty if you die, ok fine. And the Debt system is the way you have chosen to go about this, ok fine. However it needs some tweeking.
Problem: Your TP debt exists after your xp debt is absolved. I assume this is done to prevent TP "farming" but it is causing a big negative to your level to tp ratio if you die often. Both the XP debt and the TP debt need to be absolved at the same time. However you have to work that out. Problem: Tombstones Currently we have to return to our tombstone and click on it. Thus getting a channel bar to get back roughly 1/3 the Xp lost to debt. (can't remember if this effects TP as well if not that might address the above problem) Well if I die say on Kiosade ... how exactly am I supposed to go back to my tombstone and recover my debt if we didn't kill him and can't kill him. He will just aggro and kill me again before I have a chance to get all the way through my tombstone activation. I think it needs to be reverted to the way it was in CB where all I have to do is pass with in X distance and it automatically restores.f Problem: Tombstones in instances Experianced this today. When you die in an instance the Tombstone is placed "outside" the instance to recover when you run back. That is great ... unless a preist rez's you inside the instance. If your deep your not going to run back outside to get the recovery to run back in. And if you die again (likely as instances are supposed to be difficult and death happens) then you lost the recovery from the first death as the tombstones only offer 1/3 recovery from your most recent death. My solution to this is EZ. Tombstones should resolve 1/3 of your TOTAL debt. That way no matter how many times you died in the instance ( or trying to get back to your tombstone in the open world) you get the 1/3 recovery. And 1/3 as a whole or in parts is still 1/3. People are not going to be able to completely abolish thier debt by dying a whole bunch and then getting to thier tombstone. Problem: Instance mobs unbalanced How does this have to do with death debt. Ez. When I am level 27 going against lvl 19 elites in Abby that can 2 shot me. We have a problem. They are going to kill people heals or not. So lots of deaths will occur. OK fine. So then I can work of my debt in the instance right? No. WITHOUT debt these mobs were giving me 30 xp.... 30! When 1 death gives me 4300 debt. How the heck is 30 (undebted) xp supposed to even scratch that. So after I complete the instance and get my tombstone to reduce debt of my last death by 1/3 I was left with 12k+ debt. 12K!!!!!! If a mob can two shot me giving me that much debt it better be worth enough xp to start scratching the surface. Or atleast be dropping loot to cover my repair bills or give me upgrades ... the lvl 5 greens sure did that trick. LVL 5!!!! from a lvl 20 instance wtf is that about. Anyway despite my last little tangent rant I hope the suggestions about tombstones are taken into consideration, as something needs to be adjusted. P.S. a thought a friend had was that when you level ... your debt for that level is wiped. Seems fine to me as if you get too much debt the only xp you will get if from completing quests. As is I see the much later game being just that people with 1 million plus debt that have to level based on quests ... and they better hope they don't run out of quests. |

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten high enough level to attempt those monsters, so I don't have much to say about it from personal experience. Though I agree with the tombstones comment. Also, elite monsters should always give you more exp than regular monsters! Currently, I'm getting approximately 23 xp for level 15 monsters... level 19 elites should be giving at least double that, imho.

I actually like the Death System in the game... it keeps you on your toes and become a better survival in the game. Ive had dept over 10k but after that you better believe Ive been more motivated to keep alive. Since then Ive not died no where as many times as before. Its all about survival skills.

The only time I have ever gotten that much debt is when I went into the instance. Most of the time I don't die at all .. I am a scout after all I kite. Most mobs don't even get to me.
As far as not dying so much ... death happens in MMOs ... no way to avoid it. So the issue becomes what do you do when it happens. As I said there needs to be something but the something this game has needs to be tweeked a bit is all. |

Death penalty is absolutely ridiculus for higher levels 25-30+. :| Especially as it gets more dangerous as you progress.

Only thing that needs fixed in the Debt department is if a Priest resurrects you, you get full debt... This is making people more mad than anything else.

The only problem I have with the death debt thing is, well I didn't know about it until it was too late. I don't remember seeing a "Tip" that if you die that's what is going to happen or telling you to go back to your grave stone. It wasn't until I was with my husband that he told me to click on it thus reducing my debt. I ended up making another toon because my first one had accumulated too much debt and got tired of seeing the dang skull down there reminding me how stupid I was.
